Eric Adams Stance Towards Crypto

The Mayor-elect of New York, Eric Adams, has had a pro-crypto stance. He has also revealed that he has some plans for the education system, which are somewhat in accordance with his stance.

During a recent interview, Adams stated:

"We must open our schools to teach the technology, to teach this new way of thinking.”

He believes that crypto assets are a new way of making payments not only in the country but throughout the globe and students should be well-equipped with the knowledge of blockchain technology so they can adapt to this “new way of thinking”.

Eric Adams is a 61-year old Democrat and stated his surprise when his young constituents were unaware of crypto. Adams stated:

“When I talked about blockchain and Bitcoins, young people on the street stopped and asked me, ‘What is that?’”

The Mayor-elect continued to talk about the importance of Bitcoin and indicated that he plans on encouraging businesses in New York to accept BTC and other digital assets. He stated that he would tread lightly and “get it right”.
